Shadyside, PA Real Estate
Shadyside is a neighborhood in the Eastern side of Pittsburgh where most everything is within walking distance. One will find boutiques, shops and galleries with national retailers in a neighborhood of tree-lined streets, beautiful historic homes, interesting events and some of the most popular restaurants. Shadyside’s name was spawned from the name of a 19th-century Pennsylvania Railroad station in the area, which was named for its shady lanes.
The mostly residential area is replete with beautifully restored Victorian mansions alongside today’s more modern homes and condos. This East End neighborhood includes three separate business districts – Ellsworth Avenue, Walnut Street and S. Highland Avenue – is one of Pittsburgh's toniest, and is conveniently located about six miles from Downtown.
